Jill Quek Dip., NROC, Referee, Mental Games Coach
Jill Quek is the founder of 13 Shining Stars and has 11 years of experience in coaching. She is a renowned athlete in the floorball scene and has played on the top international level in Sweden and Finland. Through Mental Game Coaching, she helped her athletes overcome their mental challenges, improve their game and produce outstanding results. Jill actively inculcates values and promotes character development through sports. Her coaching experience ranges from youth development to national athletes. She received a prestigious ‘Coach Recognition Award’ in 2007 for her outstanding contribution to the floorball scene. She is the current head coach of the Singapore Women's National Team which recently clinched the Bronze medal in the Asia-Oceania Floorball Championship in New Zealand.
Benjamin Quek B.A., NROC, Sports Coaching, Sports & Fitness Nutrition
Benjamin Quek is the founder of Dream Up Multi Sports Academy and a floorball coach, who is passionate about inspiring people to become the best they can be. During his time of study in the USA, he attained his Certification in Sports Coaching by the United States Sports Academy. He is a versatile coach that is able to adapt and meet the needs of the different profile of teams that he coaches. A national floorball player in his youth, Benjamin continues to play in the Division 1 National League. Benjamin is also a certified tennis coach. He is passionate and committed to instill values and promote character development through sports.
Teresa Quek Dip. Psychology Studies, NROC
Teresa got introduced to floorball by her older sisters at a tender age of 11 years old and has been playing the sport ever since. Her recent achievement saw Catholic JC Girls team to 4th placing in the National A' division school tournament in 2016, the best the school has achieved. She is also a key player with a unique flair in Albatross FC, which has won the championship title from 2012-2016. Teresa's work experience as a social worker, enrichment trainer and relief physical education lecturer adds to her ability to handle challenging teams and bring them together for a common goal. She is a also the co-founder of Sistersfield, a business offering sweet and healthy bakes www.sistersfield.com.
Stella Chia Dip., NROC, Fundamental Movement Skills Coach
Stella's coaching career started in 2004 and has coached primary to tertiary level. River Valley High School awarded her with a 'Certificate of Recognition' in 2011 for her valuable comtributions to the development and success of Floorball in the school. Since 2011, she has consistently achieved 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up placing with the River Valley High Girls' team. Under her leadership, CHIJ Katong Convent clinched the Championship title in the “B” Division Tournament in 2009, which was featured in the Singapore Straits Times. Stella has also jointly coached Team Hestia with Priscilla, a local Division 2 ladies’ team to emerge champions for the Singapore Floorball League. An avid floorball player herself, Stella represented Singapore at the 2009 World Floorball Championship.
Tan Lee Leng BCompSc, NROC
Leng was an outstanding hockey player since her youth and represented Singapore for 7 years in several key tournaments. She got hooked to floorball and is a key player in the teams she has represented. A coach that is popular with both students and teachers alike, Leng’s teams have progressed significantly under her charge and have won medals consistently. With her experience as a player and a coach, she has insightful knowledge of holistic approach when coaching athletes and teams. She plays for the top club in Singapore; Albatross Floorball Club, and represented Singapore for the Floorball APAC in 2015.
Jacintha Chua Dip., NROC
A leader and coach at heart, Jacintha's passion to teach the sport is evident in the teams under her charge. She enjoys incorporating character building and the fun factor into her coaching sessions. With her sense of humor, she is able to make her coaching fun and endevours to bring out the best in every player. Having coached primary, secondary, junior college and club teams, Jacintha is able to adapt to the different levels of learning needs. Liitto Protégé Ladies, a Division 1 League Team, came in 3rd position in eastern conference under her coaching. She plays in the division 1 Floorball League with Liitto Floorball Club and her team emerged 2nd in the 2013 Australian Floorball Open. She joined Albatross FC in 2016 which clinched the championship title that year. Jacintha also coaches the NUS Sheares Hall Mens and Ladies teams, and Royal Albatross FC - a budding Division 3 Ladies Club.
May Tan Dip. Sports & Wellness Mgmt, NROC, Referee Manager
At the age of 22, May became the Referee Manager in the Singapore Floorball Association. She started refereeing since her secondary school days and her love for the sport has brought her to another dimension - coaching. A dedicated and passionate coach, May communiates ideas and concepts clearly, and response promptly to the needs of her teams. She plays in an upcoming Division 1 team, Aresian Floorball Club who was promoted from Division 2 in 2012. May completed her Diploma in Sports & Wellness Management in 2013. She coaches teams in primary and secondary schools, JC, Polytechnic and club level.
Gigi Tan Dip. Sports Coaching, Referee, Kids' Athletics Activator
Our latest addition, Gigi is the youngest coach on the team. She started coaching at the age of 17 and has never looked back since. She is the face behind the operations of our weekend academy classes. Gigi is also an active referee and did a refereeing stint in Malaysia for the Merdeka Floorball Cup 2015. A leader at heart, Gigi is a true motivator and detailed planner. She's highly inspired by her former Floorball coach to keep a positive attitude and look for ways to improve her craft.
